The Company House Wins a 2010 ECMA for Venue of the Year
The Company House was nominated and subsequently awarded an East Coast Music Award as Venue of the Year, 2010 at the Industry Awards Brunch in Sydney on March 6, 2010. The awards are voted on by ECMA members which are comprised of musicians, producers, managers, promoters, and other industry professionals. Janet MacKay, one of The Company House bartenders says “we’re just thrilled and so proud to be recognized in this way.”
The Company House announces an Artist In Residence Program - March 2010
Emerging musician, Natasha Peach, completed the first Artist is Resident program at the end of May. She played every second Monday for three months. The Artist in Resident program is an opportunity for musicians to hone their craft in a live environment. Musicians can tweak old songs and test new ones, as well as collaborate on stage with other musicians or pretty much anything they feel will help them become better performers. One of Natasha’s goals was to become more comfortable on stage. “It seems like with each passing performance I become more and more me. There really has been such a huge transformation that has happened inside of me since the beginning the program.”
